A first introduction to the magical world of ballet.
Experience the thrill of the world’s most famous ballet with your little ones, in this specially adapted version for children aged three upwards.
The magician Rothbart has turned the princess Odette into a swan: only at night can she return to human form. Will Prince Siegfried be able to save her, or will he fall for Rothbart’s sorcery? Featuring choreography by Antonio Castilla, English National Ballet’s Repetiteur, this version follows the familiar tale from a different point of view.
With a narrator to help follow the story, a shortened version of Tchaikovsky’s wonderful music, and all the beautiful dancing and elegant costumes you could wish for, this is the perfect introduction to the joy of live ballet.
Since its creation in 2012, over 320,000 people have enjoyed English National Ballet’s My First Ballet series. This fantastic day out for the family returns to the Peacock Theatre – the perfect Easter treat.

My granddaughter and my self had a fabulous day. The performance was superb. With the story telling my 3 year old granddaughter understood the story. The theatre is beautiful and the staff was very helpful. We cannot wait until next year.
A fun, thoughtful performance which made a beautiful ballet really accessible for my daughters, who then danced all their way home.
It was easy for my 5 years old to understand and a great perfromance, my daughter realy love it.
My granson really enjoyed the show
I took my granddaughter Luna (aged 4 and a 1/2) to see Swan Lake: My first ballet on the 13th April and she absolutely loved it! She was enthralled and it was just the right length for her age. The narrator was excellent and that helped her to understand what was happening on stage. A lovely performance with beautiful dancing - we both had a great time!
Definitely exceeded expectations. Beautiful dancing and the narrator was excellent - an absolutely brilliant experience and our 4 year old adored it.
I thought the show was wonderful, very well tailored for a younger audience and definitely value for money. My girls and their friends thoroughly enjoyed it and are anticipating for The Nutcracker to be produced in the same manner. Let's hope so!!
Excellent performance. Our 3 year old was mesmerised and didn’t stir throughout. See you next time
Absolutely perfect in every way. Thanks you
The show was very good, and the use of young dancers made ballet more relatable to kids. Given the number of children in the audience, itd be good if the organisers can arrange a staged/phased exit for the audience based on row numbers etc, as it got quite chaotic when everyone was rushing to leave at the end of the show and some people were losing their kids.
My granddaughter and I thoroughly enjoy the ballet. It was an excellent started for young children. My granddaughter is 5.
Fantastic show for young ballerinas in the making. Excellent narration alongside for children to follow. Well worth the money!
